Consignment Contract

Kids' Kloset reviews, accepts, prices, markets, and sells your items for you. Consignors receive a percentage of the final sale price. Kids’ Kloset reserves the right to price your item to the public at a reasonable price, generally 25-30% of the original retail price, depending on the item's condition.

Consignment Account Set Up: To set up a consignment account, you will be charged a one time fee of $2.00 deducted from your account at the first payout. Consignors electing store credit are excluded from this charge. Accounts may not be set up by a third party.

Consignment Hours: Our hours vary, please check our website for updates.

Consignment Period: Your items will remain on the floor at least 60 days. Please see “Unsold Items” for next steps.

Right of Acceptance: Kids’ Kloset reserves the right to deny items that most likely will not sell. Some of the reasons for not accepting items include:

      1. Stains, tears, rips, excessive signs of use, dated, malodourous, or  unclean
      2. Part of the listed items we don’t accept (these vary based on federal and state regulations but include car seats and bases as we can’t guarantee condition and expiration dates), used underwear, used cloth diapers, used nursing supplies and equipment, etc.
      3. Store inventory supply - at times, the store may have an overabundance of some inventory items. We may either agree to hold your items back until space allows or ask you to return your items at a future date.
      4. Out of season items - it’s best to bring in your items as close to the current or next seasons as possible. This increases your chances of a quick sale!
      5. Items that we accepted but we know we cannot sell (please refer to 1-2 above) will be pulled and donated to a local charity.

    2. For in-store credit - Your in-store credit will be visible in your app and useable in our store seven days after your item has sold to ensure no returns have been issued.

Unsold Items:

    1. Kids’ Kloset keeps your items on the floor for at least 60 days. You can pull your items from the floor and check them out via the register for seven calendar days after the expiration date.
    2. After that, they may be moved to the “sale” category and sold at a reduced price (your percentage remains the same with the exception of a $50 or more price lowering because of a sale event).
    3. If your item does not sell during one or more of our sale events, your items may be donated to a local charity without prior notification.

Loss/Theft/Damage: Kids’ Kloset will take every precaution to keep your items safe while under our care. However, as we don’t legally own your items, we can’t insure their loss. Kids’ Kloset is only responsible for ensuring you are paid for all items we sell on your behalf.
